Synopsis
Built about 1923 by John J. Fluckiger & Denna - Turnerville. From the June 2005 SVHS Calendar Darrel Fluckiger Barn "Barn was built about 1923 by John Fluckiger. Central part was built for hay storage. Facilities were built on each side to hold cattle & horses. Much of the hay was fed to livestock while they were in the barn. The design came from John Fluckiger & it was similar to a barn on the farm where he lived growing up. Barn is typical of that early era, but very few remain. It was built when transportation was by horse and wagon. Current use is for storage of hay. It worked very well for 30 or 40 years of dairy operation, and now works well for beef operation."
